🌸 Where shared motherhood flourishes 🌸

Saturday, May 10th, dawned with a heavy heart. From early in the morning, the hands of volunteer women shaped a space that would not only welcome more than 55 women, but also their stories, their exhaustion, their strength, their memories... and their love.

One by one they arrived, dressed in light, flowers, and expectation.

Mother's Day at Mujeres Conectadas is not just an event: it's a ritual of profound recognition.

Of that love that cannot be seen, but that sustains everything.

Of those women who raise, care, resist, migrate, love and reinvent themselves.

And this year, it was even more special.

Because the meeting was led by themselves: our volunteers .

Mireya Cobedo, Marina Durán, Lendy Ruiz, Isaura Delgado, Claudia Díaz, and Raquel López—women who are also mothers—gave their time, creativity, and energy to organize, decorate, coordinate, and embrace this moment. Some donated gifts, others handmade presents , and all offered something more valuable than any material possessions: their love and presence.

Emotion filled the atmosphere when, in a spontaneous and moving gesture, all the attendees joined their voices to sing together .

“Ma’am, ma’am…”

Denisse de Kalafe's song, that anthem that so many of us have heard since we were girls, sounded different this time:

With tears, with strength, with gratitude.

We sing it for the mothers who are present, for those who are far away, and for those who are no longer here.

It was a moment suspended in time, an intimate and collective tribute to those who gave us life.

But there was more.

We honor the mothers of mothers.

Older women, present at the event, who radiated wisdom and calm with their mere presence.

Recognizing them was an act of intergenerational love. Because having our mothers alive, being able to hug them and listen to them, is a privilege worth celebrating.

💜 When leadership is lived from the heart

At Mujeres Conectadas, we believe that leadership doesn't always come with a title. Sometimes it's seen in the hands that tenderly prepare.

In the woman who welcomes with a smile.

In someone who prepares a gift with her own hands for another mother.

Here, leadership is woven from love and strengthened by training, experience, and community.

Our volunteers proved it once again.

They didn't just organize the event. They filled it with meaning.

And that's something no camera can fully capture: the warmth of one woman caring for another.
